Max has unveiled an exciting trailer for Peacemaker Season 2, which intensifies the connections to the Superman universe by introducing Maxwell Lord, Hawkgirl, and Guy Gardner in the opening scene. The trailer starts with Sean Gunn portraying Maxwell Lord, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner / Green Lantern, and Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders / Hawkgirl conducting a dismissive interview with John Cena’s Peacemaker for a potential superhero team. The interview goes awry, leaving Peacemaker visibly dejected as he storms out.
This trailer offers the first glimpses of these supporting characters, who are also slated to appear in James Gunn’s upcoming Superman film.

Peacemaker Season 2 is set to premiere on August 21, following the release of Superman on July 11. This season marks the third entry in the newly established DCU, which was launched with the Creature Commandos TV series late last year.
Under the guidance of James Gunn and co-CEO Peter Safran, the DCU aims to distance itself from the critically criticized DC Extended Universe, known for films like Justice League, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Man of Steel. Despite this shift, certain elements from the old universe will persist. Peacemaker serves as a prime example; while Season 1 was part of the DCEU, Season 2 transitions into the new DCU.
James Gunn has assured fans that "many strands will remain consistent as far as Peacemaker's story goes," though it's still uncertain which aspects will carry over. He confirmed that the entire Team Peacemaker, including John Cena reprising his role, will return with the same cast. This includes Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase, and Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo.
Additionally, Gunn revealed that Peacemaker Season 2 will be set after the events of both Creature Commandos and Superman, with the latter's events directly impacting the storyline of the series.
