Pocketpair's Palworld, with its captivating open-world exploration, has captivated players since its January 2024 launch. The Feybreak DLC significantly expanded the game, introducing a wealth of new crafting materials, including the enigmatic Dark Fragments. These aren't your average crafting components; they're crucial for creating high-end accessories, making them a valuable find on Feybreak Island.
How to Get Dark Fragments in Palworld
To obtain Dark Fragments, you must hunt Dark-elemental Pals exclusively found on Feybreak Island. This means Pals found elsewhere won't yield these fragments. Coastal areas often feature ground and water-type Pals, so venture inland to increase your chances of encountering Dark-elemental Pals. Note that some, like Starryon, are primarily nocturnal unless they're boss variants.
Capturing or defeating these Pals (using Ultimate or Exotic Spheres is recommended) will reward you with 1-3 Dark Fragments per Pal, on average. It's not a guaranteed drop, but diligent hunting will provide a steady supply.
The following Dark-elemental Pals yield Dark Fragments. Be aware that boss and predator variants exist, often found in open areas or dungeons:
1-2 x Dark Fragments
Omascul
1-2 x Dark Fragments
Splatterina
2-3 x Dark Fragments
Dazzi Noct
1 x Dark Fragment
Kitsun Noct
1-2 x Dark Fragments
Starryon (Midnight Blue Mane; Boss)
1-2 x Dark Fragments
Rampaging Starryon (Predator Pal)
1-2 x Dark Fragments
Omascul (Hundred-Faced Apostle; Boss)
1-2 x Dark Fragments
Splatterina (Crismon Butcher; Boss)
2-3 x Dark Fragments
Dazzi Noct (Born of the Thunderclouds; Boss)
1 x Dark Fragment
Kitsun Noct (Guardian of the Dark Flame; Boss)
1-2 x Dark Fragments
Rampaging Omascul (Predator Pal)
1-2 x Dark Fragments
Rampaging Splatterina (Predator Pal)
2-3 x Dark Fragments
While less reliable, single Dark Fragments can sometimes be found randomly scattered across Feybreak. Thorough exploration is key, but remember that frequent combat will deplete your ammo—consider saving it for challenges like Bjorn, the island's formidable Tower Boss.
