Ever since the announcement of the upcoming DLC for *Lies of P*, titled *Overture*, fans have been buzzing with anticipation about the mysteries it might unravel. At last week's Game Developers Conference, IGN got some intriguing insights, though not all questions were answered. One thing that's clear is that the base game's jaw-dropping final cutscene won't be explained in the DLC.

For those yet to experience the end of *Lies of P*, here's a spoiler-free summary: the final cutscene hints at future directions for the game's universe. This scene has sparked a flurry of fan theories about its implications and potential connections to the upcoming DLC. However, *Lies of P* director Jiwon Choi has clarified that this particular cutscene isn't related to the DLC. He teased, "Please stay tuned for additional announcements in the future."

Neowiz has already confirmed a sequel to *Lies of P*, leading many to believe that the mysterious cutscene might be setting the stage for *Lies of P 2*. However, details about the sequel remain under wraps, and Choi was tight-lipped during our conversation. He emphasized Neowiz's commitment to quality, stating, "What I can certainly tell you is when we share such news or media and assets with you, you'll know for sure that we are ready to present it to you. And that follows very our strict focus on quality [amid] all the pressure that we talked about in the past. So that is the one promise that I can share with you, that when we actually share those contents with you and the news, we will be ready to share that with you."

The cutscene in question features Paracelcus on a phone call, mentioning his intention to "find her, for sure. Another key of ours: Dorothy." The scene then reveals Dorothy from *The Wizard of Oz* with her iconic striped socks and ruby slippers, suggesting that future *Lies of P* content might delve into other public domain fairy tales. However, Choi confirmed that this intriguing twist won't be explored in *Overture*.

While we won't see the Dorothy mystery solved in the DLC, Choi offered some tantalizing hints about what *Overture* will include. He encouraged fans to replay the base game, noting, "When you play through the base game again, you'll see many hints that we scattered throughout the whole experience. A lot of hints and a lot of windows into the world, and you'll be able to actually see that and experience that in the expansion...There are many things that I actually wanted to accomplish when we were working on the base game. It didn't get put into the base game, and all of that, at least key elements of that are going to be included in the expansion."

Choi also revealed that some fans are already piecing together the puzzle, as he regularly engages with fan theories online and found some to be "quite close."

Additionally, Choi shared that *Overture* is expected to take between 15-20 hours for experienced players to complete. The DLC will be accessible after a "certain" chapter in the game and will be available until the end. It's also worth noting that *Overture* is a prequel, transporting the main character back in time to Krat just before its fall. Expect new locations, enemies, bosses, characters, and weapons, though Choi kept the specifics under wraps to maintain the surprise for the release.
