Orna: The GPS RPG is gearing up for its next major event, Natureblight. This new in-game chapter launches on May 30, 2025, and continues through June 14th. As the latest installment in the Terra's Legacy storyline, it challenges players to confront an environmental crisis.
Natureblight in Orna: The GPS RPG Introduces a New Menace: The Great Murk
Northern Forge Studios is once again highlighting planetary issues, following the theme of previous updates. Natureblight weaves real-world conservation messages directly into the gameplay of Orna: The GPS RPG.
This marks the studio's second participation in the Green Game Jam, supported by the Playing for the Planet Alliance. Fans of Orna know it uniquely merges fantasy adventure with real-world map data. This event will transport players to digital versions of locations currently battling severe ecological threats.
Throughout the event, you'll journey across Orna's world to seven bespoke realms based on real places. Each location features a unique Animal Guardian, symbolizing the local ecosystem it represents.
Your adventure includes visiting Prince Edward County in Canada to befriend the Beaver and exploring Oceania's vibrant Coral Reefs. You'll trek the misty paths of Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable Forest with the Mountain Gorilla and encounter frozen ancient beings like the Bone Mammoth in Dunkerque, France.
Other guardians include the Giant Tortoise in Ecuador's Galapagos Islands, the Giant Panda in Chengdu, China, and the Macaroni Penguin defending the Antarctic Peninsula. Players can befriend these Animal Guardians and keep them as permanent companions after the event concludes.
Confronting The Great Murk
As you explore each region, you'll discover how the alien Terrans ruined their own natural world through deforestation, pollution, and extinction. Now, the same corrupting force, known as The Great Murk, is making a comeback, and you must fight to stop it.
Aligning with the event's theme, a special Natureblight pack is available in Orna: The GPS RPG via PlanetPlay. The pack offers origin town cosmetics, unique character sprites, and consumable boosters. Download Orna today from the Google Play Store.
