We’re heading back… and by that, I mean we’re actually removing things from the pizza parlor—believe it or not. The first trailer for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 has dropped, packed with exciting highlights — foremost among them being the reveal that the Freddy animatronics are leaving Fazbear’s Pizza in this second installment to wreak havoc across the outside world.
But there’s more to notice than just their departure. After seeing the device featured on the film’s initial poster, we now get a clearer look at the FazTalker—a toy resembling a hybrid of a two-way radio and an old-school Fisher-Price boombox. It appears to function exactly as fans predicted: allowing spirits from beyond to communicate with the living world.
Interestingly, rather than contacting Mike (Josh Hutcherson), our protagonist, these spirits are trying to reach his younger sister, Abby—who formed a psychic bond with the animatronics’ souls in the first movie. They call out for her help in the trailer, and it seems she joins forces with her brother and Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail), Mike’s cop friend. Still, don’t be surprised if this turns out to be a trap—possibly orchestrated by Matthew Lillard’s William Afton, even though he was presumed dead.
Viewers also catch sight of the Withered animatronics, especially Faceless Bonnie (Withered Bonnie), who makes a terrifying full-screen appearance in the trailer. Since Withered Bonnie serves as the primary antagonist in the second game, it looks like the film will stay true to that storyline.
One of the most delightful moments comes at the very end: Mike discovers a Freddy mask in the pizzeria’s office—a key item from the games that helps him blend in when the animatronics roam free after dark. “There’s no way this’ll work,” Mike says just before Chica and Withered Bonnie launch an attack.
Overall, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is shaping up to be a thrilling ride—one that may actually stick closer to the second game’s plot rather than veering off into completely unexpected territory. If all elements align perfectly, this fidelity could work strongly in its favor.
Five Nights At Freddy’s 2 hits theaters on December 5, 2025.
