NieR: Automata boasts a diverse arsenal, from quirky choices like the Iron Pipe to heavy hitters such as the Type-40 Blade. Many weapons are unique YoRHa creations, but one stands out for Square Enix fans: Noctis's Engine Blade from Final Fantasy XV. This guide details its location and key stats during your first playthrough.
Where To Find The Engine Blade In NieR: Automata
The Engine Blade isn't accessible during the game's opening. You'll need to progress as 2B and revisit the factory. Chapter Select (Chapter 9) offers a shortcut. Begin at the Factory: Hanger access point.
Exiting the access point, take the right path (2D camera perspective). Pass a fenced area, ascend broken stairs, and navigate conveyor belts with potentially lethal presses. Jump to the next cylinder, dodging spider-like enemies.
Enter the door to your left, climbing stairs while avoiding exploding enemies. A railing ends midway; the platform extends towards the camera. Shift the camera angle to initiate a 2D platforming sequence, traversing the presses to the left. The final room contains three chests. The Engine Blade is in the leftmost chest; the right chest is locked.
Beware: Exploding enemies will attack once you approach the chests.
Engine Blade Stats in NieR: Automata
- Attack: 160-200
- Combo: Light 5, Heavy 3
This weapon offers four upgrade levels, eventually reaching a light combo of 7 hits (requires finding Masamune). Unlike the Iron Pipe's unpredictable damage, the Engine Blade boasts a tighter damage range, providing greater accuracy in damage prediction.
