Nicolas Cage has issued a stark warning against the use of artificial intelligence in acting, asserting that actors who allow AI to influence their performances are heading towards "a dead end." He argues that AI, being incapable of reflecting the human condition, poses a significant threat to the integrity of artistic expression.
As reported by Variety, Cage, accepting his Best Actor award at the Saturn Awards for his role in Dream Scenario, used his speech to denounce AI's encroachment on the craft. He emphasized the importance of human emotion and experience in artistic creation, contrasting it with the limitations of AI's ability to authentically portray the complexities of the human spirit.
He stated that allowing AI to manipulate even a small aspect of a performance would inevitably lead to a complete erosion of artistic integrity, replacing genuine creativity with mere financial gain. Cage passionately advocated for the protection of actors' authentic and honest expressions from AI interference.

The film industry itself is also divided on the issue. While acclaimed director Tim Burton expressed his unease with AI-generated art, Zack Snyder, director of Justice League and Rebel Moon, has advocated for embracing AI technology rather than resisting it.
