Indie studio We Are Muesli has unveiled an innovative narrative game titled *In Their Shoes*, set for release in 2026 across both mobile and PC platforms. The game has already garnered attention, securing a nomination at the ‘A MAZE. 2025’ awards in Berlin, celebrating independent and arthouse games.
In Their Shoes: A Narrative Game Focused on Listening
Set in the bustling, contradictory city of Milan, *In Their Shoes* offers players a unique opportunity to step into the lives of seven distinct characters. The game is structured around 49 short interactive stories, each dubbed a "Moment," providing a window into a day in the life of these characters.
These Moments are designed to immerse players in the characters' hesitations, daily routines, and the rapid decisions they face. Some narratives unfold at a leisurely pace, allowing players to deeply engage with the character's inner thoughts. Others demand quick responses, simulating the pressure of real-life situations.
Unlike conventional narrative games, *In Their Shoes* presents a less structured storyline. As players navigate through the fragmented stories, they can discover 26 hidden biographical details about each character, creating a rich, slice-of-life experience.
While the Play Store page for the game is yet to be launched, the Steam page is already live, offering eager fans a preview of what to expect. Here's a glimpse of the game:
