The character was teased over the years by NetherRealm's development chief, Ed Boon, who mentioned a pink ninja named Floyd. Back in 2023, the Mortal Kombat dataminer known as TheThiny found text references to Floyd within the game files. It is only now, years later, that Floyd has become an actual part of Mortal Kombat 1, though the details surrounding his inclusion are still somewhat mysterious.
