Mistria's Essence Stones: Finding & Crafting Guide

Essence Stones are a new addition to Fields of Mistria, introduced in the March 2025 update. These stones are crucial for several new features, making them essential for daily tasks. This guide covers finding, crafting, and using Essence Stones of various sizes.

Where to Find Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Since the March 2025 update, Essence Stones can be found in chests within the mines. While I discovered my first one while searching for offering items to break the Fire Seal on Floor 60, chests appear on various levels across existing biomes and floors. Beware of mimic enemies—they look like chests but inflict damage on interaction.

Essence Stones come in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. Smaller stones are more common, but larger ones can be found with diligent searching. If hunting proves fruitless, you can craft them after building the Stone Refinery in the mines.

How to Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The Stone Refinery in Fields of Mistria allows Essence Stone crafting. This location is part of a new quest added in the March 2025 update, requiring you to construct the refinery within the mines. After completing prerequisite quests, Adeline will enlist your help alongside Olric and Errol.

Building the Stone Refinery requires:

• x200 Wood
• x400 Stone
• x5,000 Tesserae

Once built, you can craft various sizes of Essence Stones using Stone and Essence. The required quantities vary depending on the size:

**Tiny Essence Stone**	x5 Stone x5 Essence
**Small Essence Stone**	x10 Stone x25 Essence
**Medium Essence Stone**	x20 Stone x50 Essence
**Large Essence Stone**	x40 Stone x100 Essence

Beyond Essence Stones, the Stone Refinery crafts various common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items like Obsidian and Diamond, making it a valuable crafting hub for supplies needed for new builds and projects.

How to Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update introduced the auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics. Both utilize Essence Stones, with larger stones providing longer charges. Large Essence Stones offer the longest duration.

The auto-petter, linked to the Animal Sprite Statue, automatically pets animals in Large Barns and Coops when an Essence Stone is used. This rare statue is found in a concealed cave near Errol's house in the Narrows (use Dragon's Breath on the entrance). More can be crafted after unlocking the item.

The sprinkler mechanic, unlocked with the Water Sprite Statue, automatically waters crops within a 2-tile radius when an Essence Stone is active. This statue, and its crafting scroll, are on a small island east of the beach, beyond the Lighthouse (use Dragon's Breath to access the hidden area). Multiple statues can be crafted.

Future updates from NPC Studio will likely expand Essence Stone functionality in Fields of Mistria.
