Marvel Rivals fans have just wrapped up their first weekend with the newly introduced characters, Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman. While the Invisible Woman has been a welcome addition, some players are struggling to take Reed Richards, aka Mister Fantastic, as seriously as the other heroes in the game.
Mister Fantastic made his grand entrance with the launch of Season 1 on January 10, 2025, bringing his unique elastic abilities to the battlefield. As a Duelist, Reed can stretch and swing at one or multiple enemies, and his ability to expand his body allows him to take on a more tank-like role. While players are still experimenting with the best ways to utilize Mister Fantastic against the diverse roster, many can't help but focus on the character's inherent goofiness.

The ability to contort his body into bizarre shapes opens up a world of meme potential for Mister Fantastic. Comparisons to One Piece's Monkey D. Luffy have already surfaced, especially due to Reed's Elastic Strength ability. This resemblance has spurred the modding community to craft a One Piece custom skin for him, despite NetEase's recent crackdown on modding. The image of Mister Fantastic transforming into a rubber bodybuilder is humorous enough, but fans have taken it further. For instance, X/Twitter user @BOOMERANG_117 creatively imagined Reed Richards without his new beard, leading to some unsettling yet amusing results.
However, nothing has garnered as many laughs as his Reflexive Rubber ability. While it's a valuable tool that can reflect enemy damage, the visual of Mister Fantastic growing to the size of a refrigerator is undeniably comical.

Mr Fantastic has massive meme potential from marvelrivals
While it remains to be seen if Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman will become long-term favorites among Marvel Rivals players, they've certainly made a strong impression during their debut weekend. As Season 1 progresses, fans can look forward to the arrival of the remaining Fantastic Four members, The Thing and Human Torch, in the second half of the season. We can only hope they'll make as memorable an entrance as their teammates.
