Warner Bros. has unveiled the long-anticipated movie sequel: Minecraft 2.
It’s scheduled for release on July 23, 2027 — the same day Disney’s The Simpsons Movie 2 hits theaters.
Hollywood is set for a blockbuster clash on that date, especially since A Minecraft Movie raked in a staggering $957,849,195 worldwide after its April debut, making The Simpsons’ challenge all the tougher.
Warner Bros. locked in the July slot for an “untitled Minecraft sequel,” meaning the final title might change. What’s certain? Director Jared Hess is back at the helm, co-writing with Chris Galletta. Jack Black, Jason Momoa, and the rest of the cast are expected to reprise their roles.
“Plot details are still buried deep in the mine,” Warner Bros. teased.
