Microsoft has announced the Xbox Game Pass January 2025 Wave 2 lineup, brimming with exciting new titles. This announcement, preceding Microsoft's Xbox Developer Direct on January 23rd, offers a sneak peek at several day-one Game Pass additions, including Doom: The Dark Ages, South of Midnight, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and a yet-to-be-revealed fourth game.
The January 2025 Wave 2 kicks off January 21st with Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S), a day-one release for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Experience exhilarating downhill races, mastering the mountain through repeated crashes. This iteration supports up to eight players in cross-platform multiplayer, allowing for collaborative descents or intense competitive races.
January 22nd brings a flurry of additions: Flock (Console) joins Game Pass Standard, offering a multiplayer co-op experience where players collect adorable flying creatures. Soar through stunning landscapes, searching for rare additions to your flock. Gigantic: Rampage Edition (Cloud, Console, and PC) arrives on Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard, delivering a dynamic 5v5 MOBA hero shooter experience. Choose from a diverse roster of heroes, upgrade their abilities, and engage in team-based battles.
Also launching on January 22nd are: Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess (Console), a single-player Japanese-inspired action strategy game where players purify villages by day and protect a maiden by night; Magical Delicacy (Console); Tchia (Xbox Series X|S); and The Case of the Golden Idol (Console)—all joining Game Pass Standard. Starbound (Cloud and Console) completes the day’s releases, landing on Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass Standard, having previously launched on PC Game Pass.
January 28th sees the day-one launch of Eternal Strands (Cloud, Console, and PC) on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. This fantasy title from Yellow Brick Games, founded by industry veterans, features epic creature battles and a blend of magical abilities and powerful weapons in a third-person action-adventure setting. Also on January 28th, Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) joins Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, offering an action-packed third-person shooter and trap defense game with up to four-player co-op.
Shady Part of Me (Cloud, Console, and PC) releases on January 29th across Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard. This emotional journey features stunning visuals and a captivating narrative.
A significant addition, Sniper Elite: Resistance (Cloud, Console, and PC), launches as a day-one release on January 30th for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Experience unparalleled sniping mechanics and tactical third-person combat in occupied France, playable solo or in co-op.
Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) follows on January 31st, another day-one release for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. This dice-driven RPG sequel continues the story of an escaped android navigating the Starward Belt.
