Konami producer Noriaki Okamura, in a recent IGN interview, subtly acknowledged the fervent fan desire for a Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (MGS4) remake and next-gen ports. While not confirming anything concrete, Okamura's response to questions about bringing MGS4 to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC hinted at the possibility, stating that Konami is "internally concerned about what we should be doing for the future of the series." He cleverly suggested fans "connect the dots," referencing the inclusion of MGS 1-3 in Master Collection Vol. 1.
The PS3 exclusive status of MGS4 has fueled speculation about its inclusion in a potential Master Collection Vol. 2. The success of Master Collection Vol. 1, which brought remastered versions of the first three games to various platforms, including PC and Switch, further strengthens the possibility.
Last year, placeholder buttons for MGS4, MGS5, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker appeared on Konami's official timeline, adding fuel to the fire. IGN reported these titles are likely candidates for Master Collection Vol. 2, though Konami remains officially silent.
