Metal Slug: Awakening breathes new life into the iconic 90s franchise. Initially revealed in 2020 by TiMi Studios as Metal Slug Code: J, the game has undergone development and name changes, finally debuting in Southeast Asia in late 2023. Now, it's ready for worldwide release.
For the uninitiated, Metal Slug is a celebrated Japanese run-and-gun series, originally released in 1996 by Nazca Corporation, and since expanded into a multimedia franchise. While previous mobile entries like Metal Slug Defense (2014), Metal Slug Attack (2016), and Metal Slug Commander (2020) exist, Awakening promises a significant upgrade.
Faithful to its roots with classic shooter mechanics, Awakening boasts enhanced visuals and innovative gameplay features. Rejoin your favorite Metal Slug characters in new missions, engaging in World Adventure mode, 3-player cooperative Team-up battles, and challenging Roguelike encounters.
