Mastering Voice Chat: Muting and Usage Tips for Monster Hunter Wilds

Author : Ava Apr 20,2025

In *Monster Hunter Wilds*, managing your voice chat settings can enhance your multiplayer experience, whether you prefer to chat or keep things silent. If you're interested in using the in-game voice chat rather than external services like Discord, here's how you can set it up or mute it as needed.

How to Use and Mute Voice Chat in Monster Hunter Wilds

Monster Hunter Wilds - Voice Chat Settings

All voice chat settings in *Monster Hunter Wilds* can be found in the audio section of the menu. Navigate to the options, accessible either in-game or from the main menu screen, and select the tab third from the right. Scroll down slightly, and you'll encounter the Voice Chat settings. Here, you have three options: Enable, Disable, and Push-to-Talk. Choosing Enable keeps the voice chat active continuously, Disable turns it off entirely, and Push-to-Talk allows you to activate voice chat by pressing a designated button on your keyboard—this feature, however, is exclusive to keyboard users.

Additionally, you can adjust the Voice Chat Volume to set how loud you want the chat to be. Another useful setting is the Voice Chat Auto-Toggle, which can be configured to automatically prioritize voice chat from either your quest members or link party members. Quest members are those you're currently playing a quest with, which is likely the most relevant setting for most players. Link members, on the other hand, are those in your link party, which is handy if you're guiding someone through the game's story, as you might be waiting on them during various cutscenes.

While the in-game voice chat in *Monster Hunter Wilds* might not match the audio quality of dedicated apps, it's a valuable tool, especially for cross-platform play. However, for the best audio experience, using external communication platforms is recommended.
