Marvel Rivals, the acclaimed hero shooter, is a smash hit on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. However, NetEase, the developer, has consistently stated it won't be released on the original Nintendo Switch due to performance limitations. But what about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2?

Recently, at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas, we spoke with Marvel Rivals producer Weicong Wu. He revealed that a Switch 2 release is a strong possibility. Wu explained: "We're already in contact with Nintendo and working with their development kits. If we can ensure excellent performance on the Switch 2, we're definitely open to it. The original Switch couldn't deliver the gameplay experience we aimed for. If the Switch 2 meets that standard, we'll consider it."

PlayThe Nintendo Switch 2 was officially unveiled last month. While specifics on its capabilities are scarce, it's expected to be a more powerful and enhanced system. Interestingly, it seems the console will incorporate mouse-like control features, potentially offering a more PC-like shooter experience for games like Marvel Rivals. However, the precise implementation remains unclear.

The Nintendo Switch 2 lacks a confirmed release date, though a Nintendo Direct is scheduled for April 2nd. Marvel Rivals is currently available on other platforms, and we highly recommend it. Our 8/10 review praised the game, stating it "might closely follow established hero shooters, but it's well-positioned to become the genre's leading title." The Human Torch and The Thing are slated to join the roster on February 21st.
