When it comes to anime adaptations it seems we're always getting ones based on newer series, but where's the love for older but no less iconic franchises? Well, fret not because the hit magical girl anime Puella Magi Madoka Magica is set to leap back into the limelight with a brand new release coming this spring!

Puella Magi Madoka Magica (a mouthful of a name I know) is an iconic anime series based on the Japanese "magical girl" genre. But whereas stuff like Sailor Moon is a bit cheerier, Madoka Magica leans a bit more on the cynical side as it explores what it'd really be like to get thrown into deadly arcane battles as someone too young to drink.

Madoka Magica Magia Exedra has already accrued over 400,000 pre-registrations with the in-game currency Magica Stones and an exclusive portrait all lined up as rewards. And with 500,000 pre-registrations seemingly around the corner, a five-star version of Madoka herself looks to be well within the grasp of fans.

yt Magic missile!

While Madoka Magica may not be all that old for most of you, I remember seeing it become a staple of the anime fandom when I was younger. So it's good to see that it's still getting attention over the years, and I'm sure fans will be excited to keep providing it attention. That's if they don't struggle with the admittedly even longer title this release has.
