LEGO Unveils Jango Fett

LEGO has unveiled nine all-new Star Wars sets, set to launch on May 1, 2025. These releases are part of Disney’s broader celebration of May the 4th—commonly known as Star Wars Day—traditionally marked by LEGO’s debut of a new Ultimate Collector Series Starship. In 2023, it was Luke’s X-Wing Starfighter; in 2024, the TIE Interceptor.

This year, the spotlight shines on Jango Fett’s Firespray Starship—familiar to longtime fans as Slave I (available on the LEGO Store). The rebranding, initiated in 2021 at Disney’s request (confirmed by LEGO), was likely motivated by a desire to distance the brand from imagery tied to slavery. Four years later, the new name is firmly established.

The most recent large-scale LEGO version of this starship was released in 2019 as a 20th-anniversary set featuring 1,007 pieces, replicating the vessel from Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. The new 2,970-piece model captures the ship as it appeared in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones. Nearly three times larger in piece count, it stands 7.5 inches tall, 17.5 inches long, and 15.5 inches wide.
