Leaks Excite Battlefield Fans; EA Yet to Respond

Author : Finn Jun 02,2025

Despite efforts to keep details of EA's upcoming untitled Battlefield game under wraps, the internet beat them to it. Dozens of videos and screenshots surfaced online, offering a glimpse into the closed playtest phase. The footage confirmed the "modern" setting teased earlier by Vince Zampella, marking a departure from previous installments. A browse through the Battlefield subreddit reveals intense firefights, destructible environments, and new mechanics such as hanging off vehicles and dragging injured teammates to safety.

What's perhaps most surprising is EA's muted response to the leaks. Typically, publishers swiftly combat unauthorized releases due to concerns about unfinished animations, UI, and graphics. However, despite players breaching their NDAs, EA hasn’t issued takedown notices. It could be due to the positive reception among fans, who seem impressed with what they've seen so far.

"I’m cautiously optimistic because this is shaping up really well. I hope there are no surprises down the line," remarked one user. Another added, "The weapon animations during movement look superior compared to Battlefield 2042." A third enthusiastic player exclaimed, "Even in pre-alpha, the explosions, bullets, and crumbling buildings are breathtaking. There’s so much potential!"

Another commenter praised the early version: "The sound design and destruction are impressive, even at this stage."

EA anticipates the release of its next Battlefield title within the fiscal year 2026, meaning it will likely launch between April 2025 and March 2026. Following the recent announcement of a traditional, single-player campaign, fans are hopeful this installment will address criticisms leveled at Battlefield 2042.
