Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Update 1.2 Launches with Steam Workshop, Barber Shops Added

Warhorse Studios has recently unveiled a substantial free update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, marked as version 1.2. This update brings two exciting new features to the forefront: seamless mod integration via Steam Workshop and an innovative barber shop system.

The Steam Workshop integration streamlines the modding experience by allowing players to download and install mods directly from within the game, bypassing the need for external platforms. However, this feature relies on mod creators uploading their creations to Steam Workshop. Currently, the selection is modest, featuring mods such as:

  • Free Saving: This mod replenishes the "Saviour Schnapps" item every time it's used or lost, granting players unlimited saves.
  • Helmet of Henry VIII: A historical-inspired horned helmet becomes available for players to wear.
  • Tourist: This mod disables NPC reactions to trespassing, enabling access to restricted story locations.
  • Pebbles the Zebra: Transform your horse into a zebra with a unique visual flair.

While the current mod offerings are limited, the community is poised for rapid growth. With over a thousand mods already on Nexus Mods, many creators are expected to transition to Steam Workshop as well. Although it might not reach the scale of Nexus Mods, popular mods are likely to find their way to Steam Workshop soon.

Alongside mod support, the new barber shop system allows players to visit NPC barbers in Rattay and Kuttenberg to customize their hairstyles and beards. Choosing a new look temporarily enhances the protagonist's Charisma stat, adding a fresh layer of personalization to the gameplay.

Version 1.2 is a comprehensive update, with the full changelog available on the game's official website. Warhorse Studios has implemented over a thousand fixes and improvements, touching nearly every aspect of the game. These updates include:

  • Balancing adjustments to ensure fair gameplay.
  • Refined animations for a more immersive experience.
  • Enhanced NPC behavior for a more realistic world.
  • A more accurate crime system.

Additional updates encompass:

  • Revised daily schedules for NPCs, making their routines more believable.
  • Enhanced horse riding mechanics and horse trading systems.
  • Improved character visuals and overall performance, especially in Kuttenberg, the game's largest city, and during large-scale battles.

Warhorse Studios plans to provide a detailed look at these changes during a developer livestream next Thursday. The studio remains dedicated to supporting the game, with three paid DLC expansions scheduled for release in spring, summer, and winter.

With the integration of Steam Workshop, new cosmetic options, and a plethora of gameplay enhancements, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II continues to evolve, offering players an ever-richer medieval experience.
