Holding On To Marvel’s Wolverine Updates
In a recent interview with Variety, Insomniac Games' Co-Head Chad Dezern discussed the studio's future roadmap. While expressing excitement about new teams taking on ambitious projects, Dezern remained cautious about sharing any new developments on Marvel's Wolverine. He emphasized the studio's commitment to their existing projects but refrained from confirming or denying a 2025 release for the game.
"As much as we have pent-up excitement, we've got to hold on to it," Dezern stated, highlighting the studio's strategy to keep details under wraps until the time is right.
Marvel’s Wolverine First Announced in 2021
Marvel's Wolverine was first unveiled during the PlayStation Showcase 2021 with a cinematic teaser trailer, confirming its development for the PlayStation 5. In a 2023 interview with the Kinda Funny YouTube group, Bryan Intihar, Creative Director of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, confirmed that Marvel's Wolverine is set in the same universe as Marvel's Spider-Man, known as "1048." Fans had hoped for crossover events or shared teasers, but the only connection so far has been a Wolverine-themed suit, "The Best There Is," available for Miles Morales in Marvel's Spider-Man 2.In December 2023, Insomniac Games faced a ransomware attack, which led to the brief public exposure of Marvel's Wolverine's development assets and gameplay showcases.
Insomniac Games Current Projects
Insomniac Games announced that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will be coming to PC on January 30, 2025, as revealed during New York Comic-Con 2025. They've clarified that there are "no additional story content planned for Marvel's Spider-Man 2," putting an end to speculation about future DLCs. However, the PC version will include all updates since the PS5 release, such as new suits, New Game+, and more. The game will be available in two versions: Standard and Digital Deluxe Edition, the latter offering exclusive suits for both Peter Parker and Miles Morales.
