Insomniac Games' Ted Price Reveals Unmade Resistance 4 Pitch
Insomniac Games founder and retiring president Ted Price recently revealed in an interview with Kinda Funny Games that a Resistance 4 pitch was developed but ultimately never greenlit. While the concept was deemed "wonderful," Price cited timing and market opportunity as the reasons for its cancellation.
He expressed the team's enthusiasm for continuing the Resistance storyline, highlighting the series' unique alternate history setting and the untapped potential of the Chimera alien antagonists. The rich lore, he suggested, offered ample opportunities for narrative expansion.
The Resistance series, a trilogy of first-person shooters, debuted on the PlayStation 3. Following the success of the Resistance games, Insomniac shifted focus to other projects, including the highly acclaimed Marvel's Spider-Man franchise and new installments in the Ratchet & Clank series.
Price's retirement, announced earlier this year after a 30-year tenure, will see Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang assume the roles of Co-Studio Heads. Insomniac Games' current and upcoming projects include the recently PC-released Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and the anticipated Marvel's Wolverine.
