Exciting news for Disney enthusiasts! Disneyland Paris is set to introduce the first-ever land and attraction themed around the iconic 1994 film, The Lion King. As announced by Disney Parks Blog, this new addition to the reimagined Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be known as Disney Adventure World, is expected to start construction in Fall 2025. The Lion King ride promises to be a major attraction, taking guests on a thrilling journey through the film's most memorable moments, complete with a 52-foot drop that's just two inches taller than Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
The new land will boast a stunning 120-foot-high Pride Rock and offer a variety of experiences including dining, shopping, and character meet-and-greets. A newly released concept image showcases Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal in a lush jungle setting, giving fans a sneak peek into what they can expect from the ride.
The Lion King ride is just one part of the expansive Disney Adventure World, which will open after the debut of World of Frozen in 2026. This new park will double the current park's size and feature several other exciting attractions, including the previously announced Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, where Mandy Moore will reprise her role as Rapunzel, and the first-ever attraction themed around Up. This new ride will offer a "spinning carousel" experience with breathtaking views of the park's scenery.
Disney Adventure World's grand opening will be marked by the World Premiere entrance on May 15, 2025, designed to mimic a glamorous Hollywood premiere. Adjacent to this, World Premiere Plaza, inspired by Broadway and the West End district, will host theaters showcasing productions like TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
