In the captivating world of Hyper Light Breaker, players are tasked with collecting seven vital resources to enhance their gameplay, unlock permanent upgrades, boost survivability, and expand their character lineup. Understanding how to acquire and utilize these resources can be a bit perplexing at first, but this comprehensive guide aims to demystify their roles and uses, ensuring you're well-equipped to thrive in the game.

You can easily keep track of your resources by navigating to the items tab within your inventory menu, providing you with a clear view of what you currently hold.

How to Get & Use Bright Blood in Hyper Light Breaker

Bright Blood is the most abundant resource in Hyper Light Breaker, obtainable through defeating enemies, smashing destructible objects, and unlocking crates scattered throughout the Overgrowth. Additionally, you can acquire more Bright Blood by selling gear to vendors in the Hub.

This versatile resource allows you to:

  • Loot Blades and Rails from fallen foes in the Overgrowth.
  • Unlock Stashes and other crates within the Overgrowth.
  • Purchase new gear from vendors in both the Overgrowth and the Hub.
  • Upgrade your existing gear at the Hub's vendors.

How to Get & Use Gold Ration in Hyper Light Breaker

Gold Rations are earned by successfully completing Cycles. In the game's early stages, you'll likely complete Cycles by exhausting all four of your Rezes. After using up your Rezes, head to the Telepad in the Hub where you'll find an NPC. Hand over the requested materials to reset the Overgrowth and inch closer to earning those precious Gold Rations.

Gold Rations are crucial for the game's meta-progression system. They allow you to unlock permanent upgrades through Pherus Bit in the Hub. Moreover, you can use Gold Rations to unlock new services from the Hub's vendors, enhancing your overall gameplay experience.

How to Get & Use Abyss Stone in Hyper Light Breaker

Abyss Stones are obtained by defeating formidable Crowns, which you'll encounter through gates in the Overgrowth. To challenge these bosses, you must first collect Prism, marked by yellow diamonds on the in-game map.

Like Gold Rations, Abyss Stones contribute to meta-progression. They're used to upgrade your Sycoms' stats and unlock new characters during loadout confirmation, just before entering the Overgrowth. These upgrades can significantly enhance your performance in future runs.

How to Get & Use Key in Hyper Light Breaker

Keys can be found by opening small containers in the Overgrowth, though these caches are often unmarked on the in-game map, making them a bit tricky to locate.

Keys serve to bypass barriers in the Overgrowth, granting access to Stashes and other valuable loot containers. They also allow entry into Labs, underground areas filled with enemies and collectibles.

How to Get & Use MediGem in Hyper Light Breaker

MediGems are a crucial resource, obtained by interacting with glowing flowers in the Overgrowth. These gems are exchanged for Medkits at the Hub's Telepad and at Shrines within the Overgrowth, making them essential for your survival.

Before you can use MediGems, you must expand your Medkit capacity to one. Visit Pherus Bit in the Hub and spend one Gold Ration to unlock the Medkit Capacity node.

How to Get & Use Core in Hyper Light Breaker

Cores are another meta-progression resource, found in Stashes marked by chest icons on the in-game map. You can also assemble Cores by combining four Core Shards, which are dropped by enemies that yield Prisms (marked by yellow diamonds) and from unmarked lootable objects like bone piles.

Cores are used to upgrade your Sycom during loadout confirmation, just before entering the Overgrowth. These upgrades enhance your Breakers' stats, giving you a competitive edge.

How to Get & Use Material in Hyper Light Breaker

Materials are primarily acquired by using Bright Blood to open small chests in the Overgrowth, often marked by gems on the in-game map. You can also gain additional Materials by selling gear to vendors in the Hub.

This resource is used to purchase gear from vendors in both the Hub and the Overgrowth. While similar to Bright Blood, Materials have more specific applications.
