Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered not only enhances the thrilling action gameplay but also expands on the customization of weapons and outfits. You can tailor one outfit for stealth missions around machines, while another could be optimized for melee or ranged combat. However, there are moments when you might wish to harness the benefits of multiple outfits simultaneously. Fortunately, this is possible, albeit with certain limitations. This guide will walk you through the process.
Remastered Version Of Horizon Zero Dawn Required
The feature to combine the effects of two outfits is exclusive to the Remastered version of Horizon Zero Dawn. A recent update introduced the transmog feature, allowing you to retain the stats and effects of one outfit while donning the appearance of another. This means you no longer have to compromise on style for the sake of stats.
Pre-Requisite For The Two Outfit Method
To utilize the effects of two outfits, there are specific prerequisites to consider. The method described here isn't universally applicable to all outfits. While you can choose any outfit as your primary, the secondary outfit must be one of the following:
- Banuk Werak Runner
- Banuk Werak Chieftain
- Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (available only in New Game Plus)
These outfits are accessible only within the Frozen Wilds DLC area, which you can enter without completing the base game.
How To Get Banuk Werak Outfits In Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
Banuk Werak Runner
To acquire the Banuk Werak Runner, you'll need to reach the expansion area by defeating a new machine. If this proves challenging, consider reducing the difficulty or upgrading your gear. Once in the area, locate a Bluegleam Merchant (marked by a blue Merchant icon) and purchase the outfit.
Resources | Normal Cost | Ultra Hard Cost |
---|---|---|
Metal Shards | 1000 | 5000 |
Desert Glass | 10 | 20 |
Slagshine Glass | 10 | 20 |
Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept
For the superior Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit, you must complete the "For the Werak" quest, the third main quest in the Frozen Wilds DLC. Equip your best gear for this challenging mission, or switch to Story mode to expedite the process. The Adept version follows the same acquisition process but is only available in New Game Plus.
Once you've obtained the second outfit, you can stop exploring the Frozen Wilds if you choose.
What To Do To Get the Effects Of Two Outfits
Start by equipping your preferred outfit with the desired stats. Enhance these stats using Weaves if necessary. Then, utilize the transmog feature to overlay the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits. Although these outfits don't add to the stats, they grant an auto-healing perk after taking damage.
This technique enables you to maintain the stats of your chosen outfit while benefiting from the auto-healing of the Banuk Werak outfits. If your primary outfit is the Shield Weaver, you'll be nearly invincible, taking minimal damage and healing automatically when needed.
The healing perk of the Chieftain and Chieftain Adept outfits activates more quickly than that of the Banuk Werak Runner, making them preferable choices if available.
