We've been anticipating Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 Enhanced for PS5, and now we finally have a launch date: August 12.
Ninja Theory is offering two versions: a $49.99 standard edition featuring Hellblade 2 with all Enhanced update improvements, and a $69.99 deluxe bundle that throws in an upgraded PS5 version of Hellblade 1 plus the original soundtrack - ideal for newcomers to Senua's dark journey.
Current owners of the PS4 Hellblade 1 get a free upgrade path to the PS5 version.
Cross-Platform Enhancements
The same upgrades coming to PS5 - including performance mode, challenging dark rot mode, expanded photo tools, and developer commentary - will roll out simultaneously as free updates for PC and Xbox Series X/S players.
- Smoother Gameplay – While originally targeting 30fps for cinematic immersion, the Enhanced update introduces 60fps Performance Mode (with PC players getting additional high-fidelity options).
- Hardcore Challenge – Dark Rot Mode brings back the punishing mechanic from the first game - each failure makes the corruption spread, with full-body infection resulting in permanent game over.
- Creative Tools – Photo Mode gets major upgrades including new motion effects for capturing cinematic clips.
- Behind-the-Scenes – The development team shares over four hours of insights about creative decisions and technical challenges.
