Mastering the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia: A Guide to Ghostly Reconnaissance

In Phasmophobia, tackling the most elusive specters often requires employing risky yet rewarding Cursed Possessions. The Haunted Mirror stands out as a particularly useful, yet manageable, tool. This guide details its functionality.

Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia

The Haunted Mirror is arguably the safest Cursed Object in Phasmophobia, offering significant advantages with minimal risk. Its function remains consistent across game updates, making its use highly recommended if encountered.

Its primary benefit is revealing the ghost's current preferred room. The mirror provides a panoramic view, significantly speeding up the investigation and allowing for strategic equipment placement before things get perilous.

The Haunted Mirror's location is fixed for each map; it's always found in the same spot (e.g., a wall in 6 Tanglewood Drive, or on the floor). The randomness lies in whether it spawns at all.

To use it, simply pick up the mirror and use the designated interaction button (mouse or controller) to hold it aloft. The reflection will display the ghost's favored room. On Professional difficulty and above, remember that the ghost's location may shift after a time.

However, prolonged gazing into the mirror depletes sanity. Holding it for the entire duration results in shattering and triggers a Cursed Hunt at your location. Therefore, use it judiciously, preferably when sanity is high, and ensure you understand the reflection's implications.

Cursed Possessions ("Cursed Objects") are unique, randomly spawning items in Phasmophobia (spawn rates may vary based on difficulty and Challenge Mode).

Unlike standard equipment, which safely helps locate and identify ghosts, Cursed Objects offer shortcuts at a substantial risk to your character's well-being.

The risk level varies between objects, leaving the decision to use them to you and your team. There's no penalty for avoiding them. Only one Cursed Possession spawns per contract (unless modified in Custom settings).

Seven Cursed Objects exist: Summoning Circle, Haunted Mirror, Voodoo Doll, Music Box, Tarot Cards, Ouija Board, and Monkey Paw.
