In their latest X (formerly Twitter) update, Supergiant Games announced that Hades 2 has been in early access since May 6, 2024. Celebrating this significant milestone, the developers expressed gratitude to their community for the continuous support and shared that they are edging closer to the game's full release.
Their post enthusiastically states, "It's been incredibly exciting and eye-opening as we've worked to realize the potential so many of you see in our game. Thank you for all your feedback and patience as we get closer to the finish line!"
Hades, the predecessor to Hades 2, also utilized an early access model, taking 22 months to reach its full release. Supergiant Games, however, aims to expedite the process for Hades 2, planning an initial time-exclusive launch on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Launching First on the Nintendo Switch 2
Supergiant Games confirmed in a Nintendo Creator’s Voice video that Hades 2 will debut on the Nintendo Switch 2. With the anticipated release of the Switch 2 on June 5, fans can look forward to Hades 2's launch around that timeframe.
The game, a sequel to the beloved god-like rogue-like, represents the first sequel ever produced by Supergiant Games. The developers have noted that creating a sequel involves "a great deal of fear and respect."
