Your adventure begins with Casper Rudolf, who you'll find tending to his drink cart on the east side of Kuttenberg City. Enter through the east gate and head straight to meet him. Casper's curiosity about the secret behind the monks' wine sets you on a path of discovery. Engage in thorough dialogue with him to uncover details about Havel and a crucial book he left with Adleta, which will influence your approach to impressing Havel.
To retrieve the book from Adleta, visit the southeast corner of Kuttenberg's inner wall during the morning or afternoon. Before heading there, pick up five Marigolds. You'll find Adleta in an open garden. Approach her before her brother Hugo arrives, or if he's already there, obtain his permission to speak with her. Maintain a kind demeanor as you explain your need for the book on Casper's behalf. You can either pass a skill check to persuade Adleta to hand over the book or offer the Marigolds as a gift in exchange for it. Once you have the book, be sure to read it from your inventory.
Alternatively, you can bypass Adleta and head directly to Havel at his inn in Kuttenberg City. Ensure your Charisma is at least 18 by choosing the right outfit and brushing up on your drinking skills. Engage Havel in conversation and select the following dialogue options:
- Germany. Let’s do it.
- That’s a very fine gift.
- Steinberger.
- It’s missing ginger.
These choices will help you make a positive impression on Havel, who will then share the secret ingredient used by the monastery. Return to Casper with this valuable information.

Next, journey to the vineyard north of Kuttenberg and speak with the recruiter to initiate the "Under the Straw Hat" side quest. While completing this quest is optional, starting it allows you to explore the vineyard freely. Inside, find Jerome sitting on a bench near the main building.

Sneak into the main building, turn left, and enter the storeroom. Use your lockpicking skills to open the chests and retrieve the Sulphur Wicks, which are essential for Casper. For additional Groschen, visit the garden behind the main building and collect five seedlings before departing.
If you choose to complete "Under the Straw Hat," engage in tasks such as clearing plants around the vines and moving sacks. Once you've completed enough work, report back to Jerome to finish the side quest and earn some Groschen. Otherwise, return to Casper with the Sulphur Wicks and any seedlings you've collected.
Completing "In Vino Veritas" marks another achievement in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, freeing you to pursue other quests or indulge in collecting badges and dice.
