MindsEye developer Build A Rocket Boy has unveiled a new trailer, confirmed its price point of $59.99, and detailed the content players can expect at launch.
Led by former Rockstar North veteran Leslie Benzies, Build A Rocket Boy has announced a June 10, 2025 release date for MindsEye on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Here is the official description:
Set in the near-futuristic city of Redrock, MindsEye features a tightly crafted linear story campaign. Players assume the role of Jacob Diaz, a former soldier tormented by fragmented memories from his mysterious MindsEye neural implant, as he unravels a conspiracy involving rogue AI, corporate greed, a reckless military, and a sinister threat to humanity's very survival. The game's narrative is powered by cutting-edge visuals built on Unreal Engine 5.
Perhaps even more intriguing is MindsEye's PC-exclusive game creation system, allowing players to build their own experiences using all of the game's assets.
The studio describes the $59.99 price as "a refreshing departure from the standard $70-$80 AAA price tag." But what exactly does that $60 get you?
At launch, players will receive the "tightly crafted linear story campaign," a "single-player free roam" mode, and several additional missions. These include a horde mode mission titled "Destruction Site Shootout," along with two combat missions: "Honor Amongst Thieves" and "Friendly Fire." The launch also features six standard races, six checkpoint races, and three drone races. Premium Pass holders gain access to an extra horde mode mission and an exotic cosmetics pack.
Game pricing remains a hot industry topic, following Nintendo's move to $80 for Mario Kart World and Microsoft's plans to adopt $80 pricing this holiday season. Other publishers are expected to follow suit, with titles like Gearbox's Borderlands 4 at the center of pricing debates after controversial remarks from Randy Pitchford.
Meanwhile, several mid-range games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 have found significant success at a $50 price point. 2K's upcoming Mafia: The Old Country will also be priced at $50. MindsEye appears to position itself between these pricing tiers.
