Leslie Benzies, the renowned former lead game designer behind iconic titles like Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption, is gearing up to unveil his latest project, MindsEye. This much-anticipated game recently showcased a fresh look during the PlayStation State of Play, stirring excitement among fans and gamers alike.
The newly released trailer for MindsEye paints a vivid picture of a high-tech spy thriller, echoing some familiar elements from Benzies' past successes. The gameplay features third-person shooting, stunning high-end cinematics, and exhilarating drive-and-shoot sequences. You can dive into the action by watching the cinematic trailer below.
According to the official press release, MindsEye centers around Jacob Diaz, who is equipped with a neural implant known as the MindsEye. This implant, however, has fragmented his memories, leaving him with disjointed flashbacks of his military past. Driven by a quest for truth, Jacob embarks on a mission that pits him against an AI-powered military force intent on thwarting his journey.
MindsEye has been in the works for several years now. Following his departure from Rockstar Games, Benzies established his new studio, Build a Rocket Boy, and collaborated with the acclaimed Hitman developer, IO Interactive, on this project. Marketed as a AAA action-adventure game, MindsEye is also set to launch the Everywhere platform, which we've previously likened to a "big budget Roblox" after visiting their studio in 2024.
While the latest trailer did not delve into the Everywhere platform, MindsEye itself promises to be an enthralling new addition to the action game genre, coming from one of its most celebrated creators. Fans can look forward to the release of MindsEye in the summer of 2025.
