To celebrate the launch of the "Nyras Prologue" demo for the Gothic 1 Remake, THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactive have unveiled an exciting new trailer. In a departure from the original Gothic, where players embodied the Nameless Hero, the remake introduces us to Nyras, a prisoner navigating the same challenging world with the same ultimate goal: survival.
The demo, released during the Steam Next Fest event, has already achieved a remarkable milestone by breaking the record for the highest number of concurrent players within the Gothic series:

The demo provides a glimpse into the remake's enhancements, showcasing revamped graphics, smoother animations, and a refined combat system, all powered by Unreal Engine 5. While the prologue offers a taste of what's to come, it's important to note that it cannot fully capture the expansive freedom and intricate RPG mechanics that await in the complete version of the game.
Gothic Remake is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC (available on Steam and GOG), though an official release date has yet to be disclosed.
