In *Path of Exile 2*, some quests might not be as straightforward as others, and the Golden Idols in Act 3 are a prime example. These items are categorized as Quest Items, but they don't function in the typical manner. Collecting a Golden Idol won't trigger a quest entry in your log, and unlike regular Quest Items, they don't lead to quest progression or rewards upon being delivered to an NPC or location. Instead, these unique items can be sold for a substantial amount of gold, with five Golden Idols available to collect throughout Act 3.
How to Get Golden Idols in Path of Exile 2
Once you reach Act 3 and delve into the ruins of the Vaal civilization beneath the Ziggurat Encampment, you'll travel through a portal back in time to the Vaal city of Utzaal, known as The Drowned City in the present. This city showcases the Vaal at the pinnacle of their power, but don't let its grandeur distract you from your goal. As you explore Utzaal and the connected area, Aggorat, you'll discover various Golden Idols. These Quest Items are scattered throughout three locations in Utzaal and two in Aggorat.
- Golden Idols in Utzaal
Glorious Idol
Golden Idol
Grand Idol
- Golden Idols in Aggorat
Exceptional Idol
Elegant Idol
You'll find these Golden Idols either lying on the ground or displayed on pedestals, often in side rooms connected to the main areas. Keep in mind that these idols won't drop from regular enemies; you'll need to search carefully to find them.
What to Do with Golden Idols in PoE 2
Upon collecting a Golden Idol, you can return to the Ziggurat Encampment and trade it for gold. However, not every vendor will take these unique items. Head to the north side of the encampment and speak with **Oswald**. He'll comment on your Idol, and when you open the Buy & Sell screen, you can sell each Idol for a significant amount of gold:
- Golden Idol: 500 Gold
- Grand Idol: 1000 Gold
- Glorious Idol: 1500 Gold
- Elegant Idol: 1000 Gold
- Exceptional Idol: 1500 Gold
If you manage to find all five Golden Idols during your exploration of Utzaal and Aggorat, you'll amass a total of **6000 Gold**. Since these items only serve as high-value sellables and take up inventory space, it's wise to return to the encampment after finding them to sell and free up your bag space.
