New GeoDefense-Inspired Tower Defense Game: Sphere Defense Arrives

Sphere Defense: A Classic Tower Defense Experience on Android

Tomnoki Studio's Sphere Defense is a new tower defense game for Android, drawing inspiration from the classic geoDefense by David Whatley. The developer, a fan of the original, sought to recreate its elegantly simple yet challenging gameplay.

The Core Concept

Earth, or "The Sphere," faces imminent destruction at the hands of alien invaders. Humanity, forced underground, has developed new technologies to fight back. After years of setbacks, humanity finally possesses the firepower to launch a counteroffensive, and you're at the helm of this planetary defense.

Gameplay

Sphere Defense faithfully delivers the classic tower defense experience. Deploy various units, each with unique strengths, to repel waves of enemies. Successful engagements yield resources to expand and upgrade your defenses. Higher difficulty levels demand strategic thinking.

Three difficulty levels (easy, normal, and hard) are available, each with 10 stages lasting 5 to 15 minutes. See the game in action:

Diverse Turrets for Varied Threats

Sphere Defense features seven distinct unit types, offering strategic depth through combination and adaptation. Attack units include the Standard Attack Turret (single-target), Area Attack Turret (area-of-effect), and Piercing Attack Turret (for linear enemy formations).

Support units like the Cooling Turret and Incendiary Turret enhance your offensive capabilities. Specialized attack units, such as the Fixed-Point Attack Unit (precise missile strikes) and Linear Attack Unit (satellite laser attacks), provide additional tactical options.
