Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 Leak Hints at Free 4-Star Character Selector
A recent leak suggests Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 will include a free 4-star character selector, potentially as part of a limited-time event. This selector would allow players to choose one of four characters: Qingque, Pela, Serval, or Asta.
This news follows a trend of more 5-star character releases, leaving some 4-star units less relevant in the current meta, despite their potential usefulness in specific team compositions. While newer 4-stars like Moze and Gallagher have gained popularity, maximizing their effectiveness often requires significant Eidolon investment. Past free selectors in Versions 2.1 and 2.7 helped players address this.
The leaked selector features characters from the game's initial 1.0 cycle, including Asta, a character readily available early in the game. This leak seemingly supports earlier speculation that HoYoverse isn't planning imminent releases of new 4-star characters, especially considering the upcoming influx of 5-star units in Amphoreus. The game already boasts nearly 40 5-star characters, compared to a much smaller 4-star roster. Eight additional 5-star characters and a potential Fate/Stay Night crossover adding two more are anticipated.
