Publisher Dotemu, in collaboration with studios Guard Crush Games and Supamonks, has officially revealed Absolum — a high-energy fantasy beat 'em up infused with roguelite mechanics.
Set in the fractured world of Talamh, the game unfolds after a magical cataclysm has left the land scarred and its people terrified of arcane power. Capitalizing on this fear, the tyrannical King-Sun Azra enforces brutal control through his elite enforcers, the Crimson Order, enslaving mages and suppressing magic at every turn. Rising against this oppression is a band of courageous rebels: the cunning necromancer Galandra, the fiery gnome insurgent Karl, the powerful mage Brom, and the enigmatic warrior Sidr.
Absolum delivers fast-paced, combo-driven combat where players can enhance abilities, chain devastating attacks, and unleash magical spells across procedurally generated encounters. The game features both single-player and cooperative multiplayer modes, encouraging players to synchronize their moves and execute powerful team-based combos for maximum impact.
Adding to the immersive experience is an original soundtrack composed by industry legends: Gareth Coker (Ori and the Blind Forest, Halo Infinite), Yuka Kitamura (Dark Souls, Elden Ring), and Mick Gordon (DOOM Eternal, Atomic Heart), promising a sonic backdrop as intense and atmospheric as the world itself.
Absolum is scheduled for release in 2025 on PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
