Final Fantasy XIV Offers Free Login Campaign Through February 6th
Square Enix has announced the return of the Final Fantasy XIV Free Login Campaign, allowing eligible players with inactive accounts to enjoy four consecutive days of free gameplay. This campaign, running until February 6th, is available across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.
The campaign, launched to kick off 2025, follows the release of Patch 7.15, which included new side quests within the Dawntrail expansion, notably the return of the Hildibrand series and a new Custom Delivery client. Producer and director Naoki Yoshida's recent New Year's message confirmed upcoming Patches 7.2 and 7.3 for 2025, alongside smaller updates, and hinted at the future direction of the Dawntrail main storyline.
This free access period provides an excellent opportunity for lapsed players to return to Eorzea and catch up. The campaign began January 9th at 3:00 AM Eastern and concludes February 6th at 9:59 AM Eastern. The four-day play timer begins upon logging into the game launcher.
Eligibility requires a purchased and registered Final Fantasy XIV account, marked as inactive for at least 30 days prior to the campaign's start. Accounts suspended or cancelled for violating terms of service are excluded. Square Enix encourages players to verify their eligibility through the Mog Station.
Concurrent with the Free Login Campaign, players can participate in the Heavensturn event (until January 16th), earning a unique minion reward, and anticipate Patch 7.16 on January 21st, featuring the Dawntrail Role Quest series finale. While Patch 7.2 remains some weeks away, the Free Login Campaign offers returning players a chance to progress through the Dawntrail storyline. The future of Dawntrail in 2025 remains shrouded in mystery, awaiting Square Enix's upcoming announcements.
