Secure the Dogwood Village Bow Early and Free in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Early-game Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 can be challenging. Henry starts with limited resources, leaving him vulnerable. Fortunately, acquiring a ranged weapon early significantly improves survivability. This guide details how to obtain the Dogwood Village Bow for free, shortly after the prologue.

After parting ways with Hans, your path to the wedding involves either working for a blacksmith or a miller. Regardless of your chosen profession, the blacksmith's location conveniently marks the bow's whereabouts on your map. Even if you opt for the miller's job, this map marker still guides you to the bow.

The blacksmith's workshop is located in Tachov, north of Troskowitz (where the prologue concludes). Travel west from Troskowitz, following the path northward. At the fork where a smaller road branches west, veer right towards a cluster of trees. This seemingly unremarkable area houses a small training ground.

Locate the archery target; collect the arrows for free ammunition. To the right of the target, resting against a tree trunk, you'll find the Dogwood Village Bow. The area also offers additional resources like brew and mushrooms. Once you've gathered your supplies, proceed with your quest.

Alternative Acquisition Methods

While purchasable from Huntsman's Son Vitek in Tachov, buying the Dogwood Village Bow is less efficient than acquiring it for free, especially considering its relatively weak stats compared to other available weapons. Vitek offers superior weaponry, making the purchase less worthwhile. Focus on acquiring the free bow if you lack ranged options. Alternatively, consider alchemy to generate income, allowing you to purchase stronger weapons later.

Regardless of your chosen weapon acquisition method, a ranged combat option provides a significant advantage, particularly given the game's fixed difficulty settings. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's combat, while similar to its predecessor, may not suit all playstyles. Ranged combat offers a viable alternative for those who prefer it.

After obtaining the bow, continue to Tachov to work as a blacksmith (saving after forging a sword), or proceed to the miller to advance the main storyline. With a ranged weapon, navigating Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's challenges becomes significantly easier.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
