Keeping Track of Your Fortnite Spending: A Comprehensive Guide

Fortnite is free, but its enticing skins can lead to significant V-Buck purchases. It's crucial to monitor your spending to avoid unexpected financial surprises. Here's how to check your Fortnite expenditure.

Two methods exist for tracking your spending: reviewing your Epic Games Store account and utilizing the Fortnite.gg website. Regularly checking your spending is essential for responsible budgeting.

Why is this important? Small, frequent purchases can quickly accumulate. Consider the case of a woman who unknowingly spent nearly $800 on Candy Crush over three months, believing she’d only spent $50. This highlights the need for vigilant spending tracking. Let's explore how to check your Fortnite spending.

Method 1: Check Your Epic Games Store Account

All V-Buck purchases, regardless of platform or payment method, are recorded in your Epic Games Store account. Follow these steps:

  1. Access the Epic Games Store website and log in.
  2. Click your username in the top right corner.
  3. Select "Account," then "Transactions."
  4. On the "Purchase" tab, scroll through your transactions, clicking "Show More" as needed.
  5. Identify entries showing "5,000 V-Bucks" (or similar), noting the associated currency amount.
  6. Manually sum the V-Bucks and currency amounts using a calculator to determine your total spending.

Important Considerations: Free weekly games from the Epic Games Store will also appear as transactions. V-Buck card redemptions might not display a dollar amount. Despite these limitations, this provides the most accurate record of your Fortnite spending.

Method 2: Using Fortnite.gg

As highlighted by Dot Esports, Fortnite.gg offers a user-friendly alternative. While it doesn't automatically track purchases, you can manually input your acquired items:

  1. Visit Fortnite.gg and log in or create an account.
  2. Navigate to "My Locker."
  3. Manually add each outfit and cosmetic item by selecting it and clicking "+ Locker." You can also search for items.
  4. Your locker will then display the total V-Buck value of your owned cosmetics. Use a V-Buck to dollar converter for an approximate currency equivalent.

Neither method is flawless, but they offer practical ways to monitor your Fortnite spending.

Fortnite is available on various platforms, including Meta Quest 2 and 3.
