While Square Enix remains tight-lipped about a concrete release date, Hamaguchi offered an encouraging update during a January 23, 2025 Famitsu interview. Kitase also expressed satisfaction with the completed storyline, hinting at a satisfying conclusion for fans.

Timed Exclusivity Expected:

A March 6, 2024 report from the Washington Post suggests PlayStation secured timed exclusivity for the entire FF7 Remake trilogy. Following the pattern of previous releases, FF7 Remake Part 3 is likely to launch exclusively on PS5 for a period before arriving on other platforms. This aligns with the release history of FF7 Remake (one-year PS4 exclusivity), FF7 Remake Intergrade (six-month PS5 exclusivity), and FF7 Rebirth (timed PS5 exclusivity before a January 23, 2025 PC release).

Square Enix's Multi-Platform Shift:

Despite the positive reception of the FF7 Remake series, Square Enix's March 31, 2024 financial report revealed declining sales in its HD titles. In response, the company announced a strategic shift towards a multi-platform approach, encompassing Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms. This suggests that future Square Enix titles, including potential future FF7 installments, may see wider releases beyond PlayStation.
