Feral Interactive Drops the Imperium Update for ROME: Total War

If you're a fan of the classic strategy game *ROME: Total War* on Android, you're in for a treat. Feral Interactive has just rolled out the massive Imperium Update, bringing a slew of gameplay tweaks, control improvements, and quality-of-life enhancements to your fingertips. This update, which was released for the main game, will also be available next week for the standalone expansions *Barbarian Invasion* and *Alexander*.

What Does the Imperium Update Bring to ROME: Total War?

The Imperium Update incorporates some of the best features from Feral’s newer mobile titles, such as *Total War: MEDIEVAL II* and *EMPIRE*. Here's a rundown of what you can expect:

  • New Control Options: Three new control modes have been introduced: Positioning Mode, Melee Mode, and Automatic Deselection. These modes enhance your command over units, making battles more precise and manageable. For instance, you can now move your army, agents, or fleets by simply tapping and holding, eliminating the need to manually drag paths.
  • Positioning Mode: This feature allows you to fine-tune unit placements with ease by tapping and holding. It's perfect for strategists who love to get every detail right.
  • Group Grid Feature: Managing unit groups is now easier than ever with a collapsible selection menu, streamlining your command experience.
  • Melee Mode: This mode enables ranged units to switch to close combat when the situation demands it, adding flexibility to your tactics.
  • Command Slowdown: A significant change is the introduction of Command Slowdown, which automatically slows the game when you issue complex orders, helping you keep up with the action.
  • Keyboard and Mouse Support: For the first time, Android (and iPad) users can enjoy keyboard and mouse support, offering a more PC-like experience.
  • Redesigned Minimap: Inspired by *MEDIEVAL II*, the minimap has been revamped for smoother zooming and navigation, complete with a new reset button for quick access to the default view.

The Imperium Update is now live on the Google Play Store for *ROME: Total War* on Android. Make sure to install it and experience these enhancements firsthand. Keep an eye out for the updates coming next week for *Barbarian Invasion* and *Alexander*.
