What Energy Crystals Do in R.E.P.O. and How to Get More

Conquering a level in the challenging co-op game R.E.P.O. is a significant achievement. Your reward? A trip to the Service Station where you can purchase upgrades, including invaluable Energy Crystals. Here's what they do and how to acquire more.

What Are Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O.?

These shiny yellow crystals, available at the Service Station after completing your first level, are a game-changer. They cost between $7,000 and $9,000, generally cheaper at the start of the game when difficulty is lower. Grab them early if you can!

Purchasing an Energy Crystal adds an Energy Container to your R.E.P.O. truck. This container lets you recharge tools like the Valuables or Extraction Tracker, saving you money on replacements. Simply place your item in the bin next to the container (marked with a yellow lightning bolt) to begin recharging. Get ready to tackle those Clowns, Gnomes, and Shadow Children!

The Energy Crystal automatically appears in the container upon purchase. However, their power is finite; they deplete with use and eventually break, requiring replacement. One crystal typically recharges about four battery sections of an item, while six crystals fully replenish the Energy Container.

How To Get More Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O.

Energy Crystals are only sold at the Service Station, and they can be expensive. To ensure you have enough cash, diligently loot and scavenge valuables during each level. Only after successfully completing a level with sufficient funds will the Taxman transport you to the Service Station.

During particularly tough levels, prioritize escaping with enough money to progress rather than risking everything. Losing your valuables is a costly mistake!
