Dungeonborne Officially Announces Shutdown Preparation

The developers behind the PvPvE action game Dungeonborne, which drew inspiration from the renowned Dark and Darker, have officially announced the termination of support for the game, along with the impending closure of its servers. Despite initial enthusiasm, Dungeonborne struggled to maintain its player base over its brief lifespan of less than a year, primarily due to dwindling player engagement and the absence of substantial updates.

While the game's page on Steam remains accessible, it has vanished from the platform's search results and can only be reached through a direct link. Although the official reasons for the shutdown remain undisclosed, the critically low player numbers are evidently a significant factor. By late 2024, Dungeonborne's concurrent player count had plummeted to a mere 200, and in the days leading up to the announcement, activity had further declined to just 10-15 players.

The servers for Dungeonborne are scheduled for permanent closure on May 28, signaling the end of the project's journey. This marks the conclusion of a game that once held promise and captured the interest of genre enthusiasts but ultimately failed to reach its full potential.
