The latest trailer zeroes in on the vast deserts of Arrakis, showcasing the myriad challenges and opportunities players will encounter.
In Dune: Awakening, survival hinges on exploration. Players must traverse the treacherous dunes to collect vital resources necessary for building shelters and crafting vehicles, such as battle-ready ornithopters. To streamline resource gathering, players can employ a scanner, and by positioning probes on high ground, they can uncover essential points of interest scattered across the map.
These points of interest include everything from downed spacecraft to deserted outposts. Accessing these areas often demands creativity, with tools like grappling hooks, power belts, and specialized gear playing crucial roles. All gear can be enhanced at the player's base using modular components, ensuring readiness for any looming threats.
The early access launch of Dune: Awakening is slated for May 20, available exclusively on PC. Console versions are planned for release later on. In the interim, players can craft their characters and evaluate system performance with the benchmark tool accessible on Steam.
