Eko Software and NACON have released a playable demo and outlined a detailed roadmap for their action RPG, Dragonkin: The Banished, during its early access phase. The early access build will feature the prologue and opening chapter, letting players experience the narrative through three distinct heroes: the Knight, the Oracle, and the Barbarian. It also includes four Vermplings—cooperative partners that battle alongside you—the innovative Bloodline Grid skill tree, endgame hunting quests, and the first upgrades for your central hub city. The demo is available now through March 3, 2025, as a part of Steam Next Fest.
The developers have laid out ambitious plans for the coming year. Spring updates will bring new abilities, richer endgame content, a new endgame activity, and hub city enhancements. Summer updates will add another hero, more skills, and expanded endgame challenges. By autumn, the game will receive multiplayer support, plus continuous improvements to the Bloodline Grid and hub city systems.
In Dragonkin: The Banished, you journey through a world tainted by ancient dragon blood, leading a legendary warrior to eradicate sinister creatures rising from below and confront the mighty Dragonlords behind the chaos. Progression is fueled by character development, equipment upgrades, and Vermpling evolution, while the strategic Bloodline Grid lets you tailor your abilities.
Dragonkin: The Banished enters Steam Early Access on March 6, 2025, with a full release planned later for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
