Dragon Quest 3 Remake: Conquering Baramos's Lair – A Comprehensive Guide
After securing the Six Orbs and hatching Ramia, the Everbird, your journey to Baramos's Lair begins. This challenging dungeon serves as the ultimate test before venturing into the game's underworld. This guide details how to navigate and conquer Baramos's Lair in Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake.
Baramos, the archfiend, casts a long shadow over the game's early stages. Accessing his lair requires Ramia; your hero should ideally be at least level 20 before attempting this encounter. The dungeon holds several valuable items, detailed below.
Reaching Baramos's Lair
Having completed the Maw of the Necrogond and obtained the Silver Orb, Ramia becomes available. Fly from either the Shrine of the Everbird or the Necrogond Shrine to the island nestled amidst mountains north of the Necrogond Shrine. This island houses Baramos's Lair. Ramia will deposit you near the entrance; simply proceed north to enter.
Navigating Baramos's Lair
Unlike typical dungeons, Baramos's Lair interweaves indoor and outdoor areas. The goal: reach Baramos. The main outdoor area, "Surroundings," serves as a central hub. Below is the main path to the boss; treasure locations are detailed separately.
Reaching Baramos – The Main Path:
- Upon entering from the overworld, bypass the main entrance. Instead, circle the castle's east side to the northeastern pool.
- Ascend the stairs to the pool, then turn left (west) to another staircase. Climb, and locate the door on your right. Enter.
- You're now in the Eastern Tower. Ascend to the roof exit.
- Traverse the castle roof southwest, descend, continue west, and pass through the gaps in the northwest double wall. Use the northwest stairs.
- The stairs lead to the Central Tower. Use "Safe Passage" to cross electrified floor panels to the southwest stairs. Descend to B1 Passageway A.
- In B1 Passageway A, head east to the far eastern stairs.
- You enter the South-East Tower. Proceed northeast to the stairs, ascend to the roof, and head west to another staircase. Cross the grass northwest and enter the only door.
- This leads to a small section in the Central Tower's northeast corner. Exit.
- You're in B1 Passageway B. Proceed north to the stairs.
- You reach the Throne Room. Avoid floor panels and exit south.
- Back in "Surroundings," locate the large structure in the northwest (Throne Room). Proceed east to the northeastern island structure – Baramos's Den, the boss arena.
