Disney Mirrorverse, the mobile action RPG featuring a unique blend of Disney and Pixar characters, is shutting down. Developer Kabam announced the game's end-of-service (EOS) date as December 16th, 2024.
The game is already unavailable on the Google Play Store, and in-app purchases have been disabled. Players have approximately three months remaining to enjoy the game before the servers are permanently closed.
A Look Back at Disney Mirrorverse
Launched in June 2022, Disney Mirrorverse offered a compelling premise: action-packed battles alongside reimagined Disney and Pixar heroes. While initially generating excitement, the extended beta period and infrequent content updates ultimately contributed to player attrition.
The game's challenging shard collection system, requiring significant time investment or in-game purchases to fully develop characters, also proved a deterrent for many. Despite these shortcomings, the game boasted impressive character designs and visuals.
The Unexpected EOS Announcement
The sudden announcement of Disney Mirrorverse's closure is particularly surprising given the recent release of new story content and the addition of Cinderella as a playable character just a week prior. This isn't Kabam's first instance of abruptly ending a game's service; they previously shut down Transformers: Forged to Fight and a Marvel Contest of Champions spin-off.
