Discover the New Chicken Variants in Minecraft's 25w06a Snapshot!
Minecraft players eagerly anticipate Java Snapshot updates, offering glimpses into future game additions. Snapshot 25w06a introduces exciting new animal variants: three types of chickens! This guide details their locations and how to collect them.

Chicken Variant Locations:
-
Warm Chickens: These yellow and orange-feathered birds blend into warmer biomes. Search these locations: Badlands, Bamboo Jungle, Eroded Badlands, Jungle, Savanna, Savanna Plateau, Sparse Jungle, Windswept Savanna, and Wooded Badlands.
-
Cold Chickens: Sporting blue feathers, Cold Chickens reside exclusively in colder biomes: Old Growth Pine Taiga, Old Growth Spruce Taiga, Snowy Taiga, Taiga, Windswept Forest, Windswept Gravelly Hills, and Windswept Hills.
-
Temperate Chickens: Veteran players will recognize these as the classic white chickens. They're found in all biomes except the warm and cold biomes listed above.
Taming Chickens:
Collecting these feathered friends requires a different approach than taming other mobs. There's no traditional taming method. Instead, carry seeds to attract chickens, then guide them into a fenced area. Repeat this process until you've gathered your desired number. Be mindful of long journeys, especially in Survival mode, and consider establishing checkpoints along the way.
Breeding Chickens:
To expand your chicken collection, feed seeds to two chickens of the same type to produce an egg that hatches the same variant. For a surprise, feed seeds to two different types – the resulting egg will hatch a random chicken variant.
