How to Unlock Fishing in Monster Hunter Wilds

To start your fishing adventure in Monster Hunter Wilds, you'll need to visit Kanya at the Forest Base Camp in the Scarlet Forest. You'll encounter this area during Chapter 1. Kanya can be found beside a pond at the camp, actively fishing. Approach her once you have full access to the camp to receive your fishing rod, the Common Wood Minnow lure, and the sidequest ‘Fishing: Life, in Microcosm’. This quest marks the beginning of a series of fishing challenges that will unlock various bait lures, essential for catching the game's rarest fish.
